Big crabs and crayfish, jigged streamers that ride hook point up, and much more, Umpqua’s X-Series XS506 BN Jig Fly Hooks are a great hook whenever you need to prevent snags or get to those fish feeding on the bottom. These black nickel hooks have a 60-degree bend and are strong enough for fresh and saltwater use, and the addition of a micro-barb gives great holding power during long fights. From large predatory trout to redfish and carp, this hook is a solid choice for it all.

Uses

Umpqua created their X-Series XS506 BN Jig Fly Hooks as a do it all jig hook for tying medium to large-sized flies. These hooks are great for streamers, crustaceans, and any fly that you want to impart a jigging motion into or ride point up to minimize snagging.

Comparisons

Another hook that’s similar to Umpqua’s X-Series XS506 BN Jig Fly Hooks is Daiichi’s 4630 60 Degree Jig Hooks. Like the XS506BN Hooks, these hooks also have a 60-degree bend and a micro-barb, but one key difference is that Daiichi’s 4630 Hook has a much more limited range of sizes and don’t come in any sizes smaller than a 2/0.
