Umpqua Stratos X Tippet is built for anglers who want a stealthy connection that holds up when the water is clear and the fish are picky. This 100% nylon tippet keeps your rig subtle underwater, while still giving you the confidence to lean on a strong link when a good fish finally eats.

Stratos X shines when you are nymphing deep runs, probing rocky seams, or fishing pressured trout that have seen a lot of flies. When the bottom is rough or the fish are hard on your gear, the abrasion resistance helps protect against nicks from rocks, wood, and teeth.

Why We Like It

Stratos X stands out with a premium feel where it counts, knot strength, durability, and a strong strength-to-diameter balance that lets you fish a finer tippet without feeling undergunned. The material has enough stiffness to help turn over smaller flies and longer leaders cleanly, and the low-stretch design improves contact so you can read subtle takes and stay connected during the fight. It also comes on a spool with Umpquas tippet spool tender band, which helps keep the tippet from spilling in a pocket or pack.
