Description
The Sunline Siglon PE4 Braided Fishing Line is a 4-strand PE braid from Japanese line maker Sunline, available in 150 m and 300 m spools. Sunline says it’s a tightly woven braid with strong line and knot strength, good abrasion resistance for its thin diameter, and low colour bleed, so the colour holds up over time. We stock four sizes. The lighter PE #0.8 (12 lb, 0.153 mm) and PE #1 (16 lb, 0.171 mm) come in orange on 150 m spools, which suit light setups. The heavier PE #1.7 (30 lb, 0.223 mm) and PE #3 (50 lb, 0.296 mm) come in green, on 150 m or 300 m spools. Each size lists its lb test, max kg and diameter, so you can match the line to your reel capacity, rod rating and target fish before you order.
| Test Strength | Max Strength (kg) | Line Size (#) | Diameter (mm) | Length (m) | Color | Processing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 35 lb | 15.5 | 2.0 | 0.242 | 100×12 | Multi Color | Advanced Braiding |
| 40 lb | 18.5 | 2.5 | 0.270 | 100×12 | Multi Color | Advanced Braiding |
| 50 lb | 22.0 | 3.0 | 0.296 | 100×12 | Multi Color | Advanced Braiding |
| 60 lb | 29.9 | 4.0 | 0.342 | 100×12 | Multi Color | Advanced Braiding |
The four sizes fall into two groups:
Which size should I choose?
Match it to your rod rating, your reel’s capacity and drag, your target fish and the structure you fish around.
What’s the difference between PE size and lb test?
PE size is a Japanese thickness rating. Lb test is breaking strength. For example, #0.8 is 12 lb and #3 is 50 lb.
150 m or 300 m?
150 m fills most small and medium reels. 300 m suits larger reels, or lets you refill a smaller reel twice. The 300 m spool is only available in #1.7 and #3.
Why different colours?
Sunline supplies the light sizes (#0.8, #1) in orange and the heavier sizes (#1.7, #3) in green.
Do I need a leader?
Most anglers add a leader to braid. Choose its strength to suit your target fish and setup.
