The Nasci FD is the smart choice for stepping up a technical level without moving into competition-grade budgets. While it’s calibrated for regular rather than intensive use, it offers a smoothness and protection against the elements that are surprising for this price.

Accessible Shimano engineering for your lure fishing

Proven mechanics for your regular sessions

The Shimano Nasci FD positions itself as a versatile mid-range reel, designed for anglers seeking reliable technology at an affordable price. It features cold-forged HAGANE Gear gears, ensuring smooth rotation and mechanical robustness that exceeds the usual standards of this price category. For the first time at this level, the Infinity Drive system is present to reduce the friction resistance of the main shaft, delivering increased retrieve power under load.

Fishing comfort and balance with the G Free Body design

The ergonomics of this reel are based on the G Free Body architecture, a light and discreet design that improves balance and comfort during long sessions. This design, combined with the use of Ci4+ material for the body, helps reduce muscle fatigue during repeated casts and improves the precision of your retrieves. The AR-C spool, fitted with a V-shaped lip, makes line release easier by reducing coils, which minimizes the risk of tangles while increasing casting distance.

IPX4 protection against water and dust intrusion

The durability of the HAGANE Gear is reinforced by Coreprotect technology, which prevents water from entering the body and the line roller bearing without weighing down the rotation. This water-repellent treatment ensures smooth, consistent operation, even during frequent use in saltwater environments or in driving rain. For optimal line management, the Anti-Twist Fin limits braid slack during retrieval, preventing the line from winding unevenly under the spool. It’s a reliable choice for anglers fishing for bass in estuaries or zander in large rivers who want serious gear without moving into the high end.
