Shimano Aldebaran MGL Low Profile Baitcasting Reels are the ultimate light weight baitcasting reels! The Aldebaran MGL weighs in at a ridiculous 4.8 ozs! That is absolutely insane! Shimano was able to cut weight by using a Hagane Magnesium Body, CI4+ sideplate and an MGL spool. This is the reel that you can cast all day long and not get fatigued. Shimano has incorporated X-Ship, Silent Tune to reduce vibration in the spool bearings and a Cross Carbon drag system. All of this put together produces a reel that is smooth, casts great and is a pleasure to fish!
