The V.3 PM is the short version of the Seanox tuna grip: 80 cm and 1.6 kg. It holds the fish by the mouth while you unhook it, and the fish stays in the water. If you want a clean tuna release, this is the tool we recommend.
The grip is made to hold big saltwater fish still while you unhook them. You set the jaw in the fish’s mouth, then close it in one move. Closing is quick, which matters when the fish is still moving. The ridges on the jaw keep the grip from slipping. The fish stays held while you take out the hook.
An in-water release keeps stress on the fish low. You do not need to lift it on board to free it. The grip is designed not to injure the fish. Once the hook is out, you open the jaw and the fish swims off.
The 7 cm opening lets the jaw take hold of the mouth of a big saltwater fish. The 6 mm stainless jaw gives a firm hold, even on the largest specimens. At 1.6 kg, the grip stays reasonable to hold at arm’s length. Keep it within reach before the fish comes alongside the boat.
The jaw will not open unless you press the trigger. A head shake from the fish is not enough to free it. It takes up to 300 kg at the opening. The handle is ergonomic, so your whole hand fits inside for more comfort and safety. The grip stays tacky, even with wet hands.
The tool is made in France. The stainless jaw and aluminium shaft are built for salt water. Black epoxy paint adds salt resistance. At 80 cm long, the V.3 PM stays easy to handle close to the hull. It is a good size for your big game tuna fishing trips.
