This slide fixes a real boat problem: setting the transducer at the right depth, then taking it off with one turn of a knob. The 2 mm 316L stainless steel is a sound choice for a part that lives in the water. For a transom transducer, this is the bracket we would suggest first.
The fixed slide screws onto the transom. The moving part runs inside it. It holds the transducer bracket on a universal plate. The oblong slots take the transducers on the market. There is one exception: AIRMAR 1 kW units.
A stainless cage nut holds the moving part at its lower stop. It adds 30 mm of adjustment, with nothing to take apart. You raise or lower the transducer until the fishfinder reads clean. The setting stays put, even when you remove the transducer between trips.
Loosen the M8 knob and the transducer slides out in one piece. This helps when you beach the boat or load it on a trailer. It also helps when the boat is lifted for dry storage. Out of the water, the transducer no longer collects weed or shells. So you skip antifouling on the transducer, and the cleaning that comes with it.
To pick a size, measure the height of your transom. The 215 is the shortest and weighs 310 g. The 465 has the longest moving part, at 320 mm. Plan screws that suit your hull, as they are not supplied. The Seanox slide is made in France. The maker advises a speed of 25 knots in use.
