2026 Jackson Knarr FD

Jackson Kayak conquers the water with a completely new fishing platform. Introducing the Knarr FD, a kayak 100% dialed in on the challenges presented by oceans and large lakes. Bring on the surf, current, wind, tide, and the elements – these are the focus of our design.

Working with a team of expert big water, big game, and big tournament anglers, designer Tony Lee hand-shaped the hull with their challenges in mind. The Knarr is crafted for maximum speed, stability, handling surf, and tracking in any weather or water conditions. This incredible kayak combined with the new FD Mark IV makes this our most efficient pedal kayak ever.

The Knarr is the ultimate kayak for everything BIG. Designed with big oceans, large lakes, and long-distance travel at its core. The hull is shaped specifically to handle big surf, big waves, big currents, and strong winds. The Knarr was built to handle all that big water will throw at it.

For the tournament angler or gearhead, the Knarr features a whole new look at electronics, tackle, and gear management, bringing a fresh approach to deck organization on a fishing kayak.

Every model in our 2026 fishing lineup now comes equipped with the Jackson Kayak Comfort Seat 5.0. Designed with a deeper ergonomic base for better posture and lower center of gravity, the 5.0 delivers improved support, increased comfort, and a more connected feel on the water. Its the most advanced version of our iconic seat system, now standard across the board.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Jackson Knarr FD

What water is the Jackson Knarr FD built for?

The Jackson Knarr FD is built for oceans, large lakes and long distance big water fishing. The hull was hand-shaped by designer Tony Lee around surf, wind, waves and current, and at 13’9″ long and 37″ wide it prioritizes speed and tracking over close-quarters turning. For creeks and small rivers, a shorter paddle hull such as the Jackson Coosa X is the more maneuverable choice.

How much does the Jackson Knarr FD weigh, and how do I transport it?

The Jackson Knarr FD weighs 138 lbs bare, 145 lbs with the seat and 158 lbs with the seat and drive fitted. Remove the upper drive unit for transport and secure the lower unit fully retracted. Check the ratings on your rack, cart or trailer and plan the loading method around the people and equipment available. At 13’9″ allow about 14 ft of clear storage space.

How much weight can the Jackson Knarr FD carry?

The Jackson Knarr FD has a maximum capacity of 425 lbs. Length does not translate into capacity here: this is one of the longest hulls in the current Jackson fishing range and not the highest rated. Count the paddler, the seat, the Flex Drive Mark IV, batteries, electronics and gear against that 425 lb figure, and keep a margin for big water conditions.

What drive does the Jackson Knarr FD use, and is it included?

The Jackson Knarr FD includes the Flex Drive Mark IV pedal system with a single handed steering system updated for 2025, and the Comfort Seat 5.0 on 2026 models. The drive retracts fully for launching, landing and transport. Drive coverage runs two years for the original purchaser only, and the boat must be registered on Jackson’s website within two weeks of purchase, per the Flex Drive Mark IV owner’s manual.

How should I clean and store the Jackson Knarr FD?

Rinse the Jackson Knarr FD with fresh water after every trip in salt or surf, working through the drive well, the scuppers, the gear tracks and the hatch seals, then dry it. Rinse and dry the Flex Drive Mark IV separately. Keep the hull out of prolonged direct sunlight, supported evenly along its length. Surf use drives more salt into the fittings than lake use does.

What does the Jackson Knarr FD warranty cover?

Two warranties apply to the Jackson Knarr FD. The hull limited warranty runs three years for the original purchaser of a new kayak from an authorized dealer, is nontransferable and requires proof of purchase: year one repair or replacement at no charge with free shipping, year two a replacement build at 70% off retail plus shipping, year three 50% of MSRP plus shipping. Fishing and exploration replacement builds exclude seats and drives in all three years. The Flex Drive Mark IV is warranted separately for two years, original purchaser only, nontransferable, and the boat must be registered on Jackson’s website within two weeks of purchase.
