Hogy Pro Tail Paddles

Pre-rigged paddle-tail. VMC Barbarian hook. Durable plastic, big-fish ready.

Hogy Pro Tail Paddles are pre-rigged paddle-tail soft baits built on a VMC Barbarian hook needle-sharp and strong enough for the biggest stripers, fluke, and bluefish in the bag. The specialized plastic blend is more durable than typical soft baits, the UV infusion makes the lure visible in low light or stained water, and the paddle tail gives a wide, water-pushing thump that gets attention.

Specs

Rigging & Use

• Fish straight from the package no rigging required
• Slow steady retrieve for big stripers on bunker; quicker for blues chasing
• Drift-fish for fluke with light tap-tap rod action
• Pair 6.5″ sizes with heavier inshore tackle when big stripers are around
• Bone and Peanut Bunker are the everyday colors; PT Blue Butter and Black Silver shine in low light

Why We Like It

The VMC Barbarian hook is what makes these. A 10/0 Barbarian on a 6.5″ paddle tail will not bend out on a 40-inch striper, and the needle-sharp point sets on the first thump. Add the durability of the plastic blend (typical paddle tails get shredded after a few fish; these last) and you’ve got a soft bait that’s worth the slight premium over the un-rigged competition.
