The Bonafide SKF117 is a salt flats skiff-inspired hybrid fishing kayak built for anglers who refuse to be boxed in by a single style of fishing. At 11’7″ with a 34.5″ beam and a 425 lb. capacity, the SKF117 blends stand-up stability with sit-down comfort in a compact, highly maneuverable package. Its signature Hybrid Catamaran Hull merges the lateral stability of a catamaran with the responsive handling of a paddleboard, giving you confident footing whether you’re sight-casting across a shallow flat, poling through mangroves, or working a shoreline from a seated position.
Comfort and convenience are built into every corner of the SKF117. The HiRise Seating System elevates your paddling posture for a more ergonomic stroke and a better sightline, while the molded-in underseat storage keeps your most-used gear within easy reach.
The Boss Strap Paddle Management System lets you stow or grab your paddle in seconds, and the spring-loaded drop skeg deployable right from the seat gives you precise directional control when covering water between spots, then tucks away cleanly in the shallows. The open deck design is fully compatible with the Bonafide Sidekick and accepts large fishing crates including a 16×16 YakAttack BlackPak, making it easy to rig the SKF117 exactly the way you fish.
Whether you’re hunting redfish in back-country marshes, casting for bass on a quiet lake, or spending a laid-back afternoon on the water with family, the SKF117 adapts to fit the day. With Power-Pole Micro Anchor readiness, a stern access plate for hull access, deck traction pads, and a full complement of carry handles, the SKF117 comes ready to go hard right out of the box. It’s a versatile, durable, angler-focused platform that delivers serious fishability at any skill level.

Who is the Bonafide SKF117 designed for?
The Bonafide SKF117 is a skiff-inspired hybrid fishing kayak for anglers who move between sight-casting on their feet and fishing seated. At 11’7″ long and 34.5″ wide it is compact and maneuverable rather than a distance hull, and it suits back-country marshes, shallow flats, quiet lakes and relaxed days on protected water. The low 9.5″ depth and skiff-style layout are what make it feel different from a conventional sit-on-top.
Which water conditions suit the Bonafide SKF117?
The Bonafide SKF117 is built for shallow flats, marshes and mangroves, protected inshore water, and quiet lakes and ponds, including sight casting and poling in close quarters. A compact, shallow hull is most at home in sheltered water, and wind, chop, current, boat wake, your load and your own experience all decide what is sensible on the day. Open or exposed water asks more of the paddler than the specification suggests.
What are the Bonafide SKF117 dimensions and weights?
The Bonafide SKF117 is 11’7″ long, 34.5″ wide and 9.5″ deep, and it weighs 69 lbs without the seat and 78 lbs with it. The seat comes out, which is a meaningful nine pounds on a kayak this size. Whether rooftop transport is practical depends on your vehicle’s roof-load limit, your rack capacity, a loading aid and your own lifting ability. The Sidekick HD sand tires are worth considering if you launch across sand or soft marsh.
How much weight can the Bonafide SKF117 carry?
The Bonafide SKF117 has a published capacity of 425 pounds, covering the kayak, the paddler and the gear together rather than the person alone. Account for the rigged kayak weight, any batteries and electronics, your tackle and the rest of your cargo when you plan a load, and leave margin rather than working to the published maximum. Capacity marks where performance falls away.
How does the Bonafide SKF117 hybrid catamaran hull handle standing and seated fishing?
The Bonafide SKF117 hybrid catamaran hull combines the lateral stability of a twin-hull form with the responsive handling of a paddleboard, which supports standing for sight casting while still turning readily in tight water. Deck traction pads give you footing and the HiRise seating system raises your posture and sightline when you sit back down. How stable standing feels depends on your height, weight, load, wind, chop and practice.
What does the Bonafide SKF117 spring-loaded drop skeg do?
The Bonafide SKF117 drop skeg is deployed from the seat and gives directional control when you are covering water between spots. Dropped, it holds a line and stops the hull wandering; retracted, it tucks away so you can work shallow water without catching bottom. The spring loading is the practical part, because the skeg gives way rather than damaging itself or the hull if it strikes something. Use the skeg when additional tracking is helpful, and retract it when maneuverability or very shallow clearance matters more.
What seat, storage and paddle-management features come with the Bonafide SKF117?
The Bonafide SKF117 comes with the HiRise seating system, molded-in under-seat storage, the Boss Strap paddle management system, a molded-in cup holder, deck traction pads, an Omni Hook stern tankwell tie-down system, a stern access plate, replaceable dual stern skid plates, low-profile deck fittings, the SeatRack positioning system, a bow handle, dual stern handles and side carry handles. The open deck accepts crates up to 16″ x 16″. Crates and mounted accessories are separate purchases.
Is the Bonafide SKF117 compatible with wheels, an anchor or a motor?
The Bonafide SKF117 is Sidekick compatible, Tag Along wheel compatible and Power-Pole Micro Anchor ready, with the wheel system and the anchor sold separately. On motors, no motor mount and no maximum motor rating are published for this hull, so we do not describe it as motor-ready or suggest a power limit. If a powered setup interests you, call us and we will look at a specific configuration with you. Specifications are on the Bonafide SKF117 specifications page.
What warranty applies to the Bonafide SKF117, and how do you make a claim?
The Bonafide SKF117 hull carries a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects for the original retail customer, and components are covered for one year. Registration within 14 days of purchase activates coverage. Claims start with the dealer you bought from, which is us, and you will need proof of purchase, the model and hull serial number, a description and photographs. Damage from ratchet straps or a winch system is excluded, and eligibility is decided under the Bonafide warranty terms.
