Hypalon grips have been replaced for ecological reasons by EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) grips. Very popular in the US, these synthetic rubber foams have several interesting features for rodbuilders: they have a fairly fine external grip, finer than EVAs, there’s no need to reamer them since their internal diameter expands considerably, and are therefore very well suited to the tube grips of 1+1 blanks, and finally they are very resistant and non-marking.
