A bold spin on a tried-and-true pattern, the Adams Purple Parachute Dry Fly may have an unorthodox look, but it’s a reliable fish catcher. Taking inspiration from the original Parachute Adams, this fly has a brown hackle fiber tail, a striking purple dubbed body, white calf hair wing, and brown hackling that all come together to work as an adult mayfly imitation or a buoyant searching pattern. The Adams Purple Parachute is also a great choice when pursuing feisty and aggressive fish like wild brookies or cutthroats, or if you want your fly to stand out.

The Adams Purple Parachute is a fly that you can begin fishing with in spring and will work into fall. With its bold calf wing, this fly is a solid pattern when fishing fast water or when you need some added visibility. The Adams Purple Parachute is most effective in sizes 14-16 and should be fished on a drag-free drift. From remote western streams or tiny blue lines along the east, the Adams Purple Parachute can fish them all.
